How to play
Goal: finish with the lowest score. Each heart is 1 point, the Q♠ is 13. First to the target (50 or 100) ends the game.
Passing: at the start of each hand, choose 3 cards to pass — direction rotates: left, right, across, then a hold hand.
Play: whoever holds the 2♣ leads it. You must follow suit if you can. Highest card of the led suit takes the trick and leads next.
No points may be played on the first trick. Hearts can't be led until a heart has been discarded (broken) — unless you hold only hearts.
Shoot the moon: take all 26 points in a hand and everyone else gets +26 instead. 🌙
Your turn: playable cards glow — tap one to play it. During passing, tap 3 cards then confirm.
💡 Tap the hint button to toggle a beginner hint (your safest card glows gold).
Difficulty:Easy rivals play randomly, Medium plays solid defense, Hard also passes smart and may attempt to shoot the moon.
About Hearts
Hearts is the classic trick-avoidance card game: dodge the hearts and the dreaded Queen of Spades while your three AI opponents try to hand them to you. Our free online Hearts plays the full game — passing, shooting the moon, and all the delicious schadenfreude.
Hearts is a game of controlled damage. Void a suit early so you can dump dangerous cards, track the Queen of Spades like a hawk, and learn when shooting the moon is a real shot versus a fantasy. The AI doesn't collude — but it does remember.
Quick tips
Get rid of high spades (A, K) early — they're Queen-of-Spades magnets.
Void clubs or diamonds fast so you can slough off hearts later.
Only shoot the moon when you hold most of the high cards — otherwise play safe.
