🏏 Cricket Striker
Village-green cricket at sunset. You are the striker: watch the ball all the way onto the willow, pick your shot, and chase the bowler's target in 12 balls with 3 wickets in hand.
How to play
- 🏏 The match (street-cricket rules): 2 overs of 6 balls = 12 balls, and you have 3 wickets. Beat the bowler's target before the balls or wickets run out. Lose all 3 wickets or finish short and the bowler keeps the gate.
- 👀 Watch the ball onto the bat. The bowler runs in, the ball pitches and comes on. Swing with the big 🏏 HIT button (it uses the shot zone you picked), or tap a zone button to swing straight into that zone. Keyboard: ← ↓ → pick & swing, Space = HIT.
- 🎯 Shot zones: ◀ LEFT (leg side), ▼ CENTER (straight), ▶ RIGHT (off side). Hitting with the ball's line is safest and biggest; hitting across a wide ball can still find the rope but sometimes skies it.
- ⏱️ Timing is everything (measured against the ball reaching your bat): Perfect within ±60 ms, Good within ±160 ms, mistimed within ±280 ms. Later than that — or no swing at all — and the ball is past you.
- 🎉 Perfect timing: with the line (or straight back past the bowler) = SIX if you go with the wide ball's side, otherwise FOUR. Across a wide ball = FOUR, but a 1-in-10 chance it skies to a fielder — stated, no surprises.
- 🏃 Good timing: 2 runs with the line or straight, 1 run across it. Safe, no catch risk.
- ⚠️ Mistimed: 55% dot ball, 25% a scampered single, 20% caught out — those are the real odds, printed here. And if you don't swing at a ball that's hitting the stumps, you're bowled. Leave the wide ones alone: a no-swing at a wide ball is just a dot, never a wicket.
- 🎳 The bowlers: Speedy Sid — dead-straight thunderbolts (~0.76s). Swinging Sal — slower, but the ball curls in the air (~1.02s). Spinner Sita — flighted and turning off the pitch after it bounces (~1.25s). The Professor — mixes all three, ball by ball, and tells you nothing. Beat a bowler's target to unlock the next.
- 🥅 Nets mode: unlimited balls against any bowler you've unlocked, no wickets lost, and your exact timing in milliseconds after every ball — the place to learn the windows.
About Cricket Striker
Cricket Striker is a free arcade batting game played on a village green at golden hour — deckchairs on the boundary, the pavilion behind you, and four very different bowlers taking it in turns to try to get you out. It runs on honest, printed odds: the timing windows, the catch risk on a mistimed swing, and the bowled rule are all in the how-to above, exactly as the game plays them.
Work your way up the ladder: Speedy Sid's raw pace, Swinging Sal's curling swing, Spinner Sita's turn off the pitch, and The Professor, who changes his mind every ball. Chases get steeper as the bowling gets cleverer — 24, 30, 36, then 44 off your 12 balls.
