🥊 Slugfest
Classic arcade boxing with old-school two-button controls: dodge on the D-pad, then HIGH and LOW punches. Study your rival's tells, counter your way up, and take the belt.
How to play
- Old-school controls. ◀ ▶ dodge, hold ▼ to block, A = HIGH punch (head — big damage), B = LOW punch (body — drains his stamina).
- Watch the tells. When your rival winds up, an icon flashes: ⬅️ dodge left, ➡️ dodge right, 🛡️ block. Time it as the punch lands!
- Counter! A clean dodge leaves him dazed (stars circling) — your punches do +50% and earn ⭐ stars. Dodge at the last instant for a PERFECT DODGE (+⭐ star, +75 pts).
- He defends, too. Rivals block (only chip damage gets through) and slip punches entirely — and a slipped punch can draw an instant counter. Work the body to gas him: a tired rival's defense falls apart, and he gets faster and meaner every round.
- 3 stars = STAR PUNCH — a devastating blow. A gassed rival punches slower and softer.
- Punching costs stamina. Pace yourself — tired punches do half damage.
- Knockdowns: drop him and the ref counts to 10. Three knockdowns = TKO. If you go down, mash the GET UP button!
- 3 rounds. Win by KO/TKO or on the judges' cards (total damage). Beat all three contenders to take the belt — then defend it on hard mode.
- Scouting report: Slick Vic is lightning-fast but fragile — punish him after his double jab. Brick Malone hits like a truck but telegraphs forever — block the haymaker and he's all yours. Mad Dog Mulligan throws wild combos — dodge the finisher and make him pay.
