The arcade's item-battle kart racer, on our Racing shelf — where Neon Drift GP is clean drift racing, Kart Chaos is the fight: seven drawn rivals, item boxes, and drift-boost corners across three sunset tracks. Hold the screen halves (or the steer pads) to steer, hold DRIFT through corners to charge a boost, and fire your item with the big ITEM button. Grand Prix, Quick Race, or Time Trial against your own best.

How to play — the exact rules of the Sunset Circuit
- Steering: your kart accelerates on its own. Hold the left or right half of the track to steer, drag to lean, or use the big ◀ ▶ steer pads under the track. On a keyboard: ← → steer, ↓ / S drift, Space fires your item.
- Drift boosts — the skill that wins: hold DRIFT while steering through a corner and your charge builds: blue sparks first, then orange. Let go of DRIFT on the exit and the charge fires as a boost. Longer drift, bigger boost.
- Rocket start: at the countdown, press and hold DRIFT just before GO — hold it too early and you just rev. Time it right and you launch.
- Item boxes: drive through a glowing box to pick up one item (you can only hold one). Fire it with the ITEM button: 🌶️ Turbo Pepper — a burst of speed. 🛢️ Oil Slick — dropped behind you; whoever touches it spins (even you, next lap — it fades after a while). 🫧 Bubble Shield — wraps your kart and blocks one hit, popping on impact. ⭐ Star Magnet — pulls in nearby coins and lifts your speed briefly. 🪙 Coin — two coins, instantly.
- Coins: every coin you hold raises your top speed a little (up to +6% at ten coins). Spinning out costs you three.
- The rivals: Mia races the clean line, Rex barges, Zed lays his Oil Slicks in the corners, Bea saves her Turbo Pepper for the last straight, Leo is slow but glued to the road, Vera fires everything the second she gets it, and Dee just rolls the dice. Rubber-banding is bounded: a rival far behind gains at most +6% top speed, a runaway leader's pack eases at most −6% — and you are never banded. A clean line beats item luck over three laps.
- Modes: 🏆 Grand Prix — all three tracks in order, points 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1, cup podium at the end. 🏁 Quick Race — one track, three laps. ⏱️ Time Trial — alone against the clock; your best lap and best race are saved, and the gold dot on the progress ribbon runs at your best lap's pace.
